Bhawana maddyasthanaya for Sri Maha Vihara in Pamankada

Prime Minister Dinesh Gunwardena on Friday (Binara Poya) declared open the newly constructed meditation hall (bhawana maddyasthanaya) of the Sri Maha Vihara in Pamankada, Colombo constructed by US based Dr Mohan Kumararatna and Mrs Savithri Kumararatna in memory of the parents of Dr Kumararatna. The civil engineers of the Sri Lanka Navy were involved in the construction.
Chief incumbent of the Sri Maha Vihara, and chief sangha nayaka, Los Angeles, USA Ven Walpola Piyananda Thera, the Viharadhikari of the temple Ven Walpola Siri Piyarathana Thera, Justice Minister Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe and MPs Yadamini Gunwaradena and Sarath Weerasekara and former minister Sunetra Ranasinghe were present at the event along with friends and relatives of the Kumararatna family.
