Mahanama says thank you as Trust to help children turns one year

The Roshan Mahanama Trust (RMT) founded by well-known cricketer Roshan Mahanama celebrates its first anniversary this October with a series of events throughout the month to assist needy children. RMT has transcended the boundaries of cricket to touch the lives of more than 50,000 beneficiaries.
The trust was inaugurated on October 4, 2022, marked by a heartfelt ‘We Promise’ pledge—a commitment to fostering a solid educational foundation, promoting healthy lives, and ensuring a safe environment for underprivileged children in Sri Lanka. Since then, RMT has focused on key areas, including paediatric cancer, shelters for abused children, support for children with disabilities, and emergency interventions during the prevailing economic crisis.
“It has been an exhilarating and transformative year for our trust, and I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all our donors who have shown unwavering confidence in both me and our mission. I would like to extend a special acknowledgment to our Sri Lankan diaspora living abroad in Dubai, Australia, New Zealand, the UK, and Canada, Aruba for orchestrating exceptional fundraisers that have allowed us to continue our vital work for underprivileged children in Sri Lanka,” Mahanama said. He also thanked their partners—the Indira Cancer Trust, Ayati Trust, SOS, Roshan Wijerama Family Foundation, Community meal share and the Sri Lanka College of Pediatricians.
