The Sri Lanka Federation of the Visually Handicapped is excited to announce its choir (comprising talented visually impaired singers) is now available for bookings in this year’s Christmas season.

The choir members eagerly look forward to bringing their special brand of festive cheer to corporates, hotels and homes.
The Sri Lanka Federation of the Visually Handicapped aims to improve the quality of life of the visually impaired population of Sri Lanka.
Every year the Federation brings together a group of multi-talented, multi-religious and multi-racial singers to form a choir that performs at reputed establishments and functions during the festive season.

The choir has a long history of performing at leading hotels, end-of-year office functions, shopping malls, apartment complexes and other institutions. The choir performs four-part singing, and their repertoire includes English, Sinhala, and Tamil carols. The total programme can be tailor-made to run for 20-40 minutes.

The funds raised from these engagements will be used to cover expenses of the choir, and any remaining funds will be used to support the ongoing activities of the Federation. Please contact Ms Nilmini on 0711 949379 or email slfvh74@gmail.com to book the choir or for any questions and clarifications.

In addition to the choir, the Federation supports self-employment projects by its members. Any organisations interested in supporting self-employment projects either financially or through the provision of raw materials by donating old magazines, newspapers, scrap papers or fabric can contact Ms Nilmini.

The Federation is in need of volunteers to assist with administration, letter writing, fundraising for 2-3 hours a week. Please contact Pat Benedict on 0777 711044 for inquiries regarding volunteer opportunities.

The Federation provides white canes free of charge to those visually impaired citizens who cannot afford to buy their own. Any individuals or organisations that are interested in sponsoring the provision of blind canes or in supporting self-employment projects for the blind, can contact Ms Nilmini.
