Entries called for Northern Province All-Island Open Championship
The stage is set for a thrilling badminton extravaganza as the Northern Province prepares to host the prestigious Northern Province All-Island Open Badminton Championship. Shuttlers from across the nation are now invited to showcase their talent at the highly anticipated competition.
Organised by the Northern Province Badminton Association, affiliated with Sri Lanka Badminton, the tournament is classified as a Level 1 national ranking event. From October 31 to November 5, the Northern Province Indoor Badminton Sports Complex in Kilinochchi will host intense action, bringing together the best in the sport.
Applications are currently open and will close on October 25, offering badminton enthusiasts a unique opportunity to shine in the national spotlight. The championship features a range of categories, ensuring a diverse and competitive playing field. These include the Junior category, encompassing Under-11, 13, 15, 17, and 19 years for boys and girls Singles and Doubles events.
The Senior category is equally comprehensive, featuring Men’s and Women’s Singles and Doubles, and categories for players over 30 to 70. The Open category is set to excite with Men’s and Women’s Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles matches. This event is made possible through the sponsorship of Mcfoil, Mobil, 3M and GAC.
