Eastern Provincial Championship won by Batticaloa Paddiruppu Zone
The Batticaloa Paddiruppu Zone won the Eastern Provincial Championship of the CBL Samaposha Provincial Schools Games 2023, held at the Leelaratne Stadium in Kantale.

Coming in as runners-up were the Akkaraipattu and Kalmunai zones, who finished closely behind the winners as another phase of the CBL Samaposha Provincial School Games 2023 was organised with the Eastern Provincial School Sports Tournament concluded successfully at the Leelaratne Stadium in Kantale.
The sole purpose of the CBL Samaposha Provincial School Games 2023 is to empower Sri Lankan school sportsmen and sportswomen, to ensure their health and fitness, and to produce Sri Lankan athletes who can win on the international stage.
To ensure and develop the physical and mental wellbeing, and sports skills of the future generation, the ‘Samaposha Provincial School Games 2023’ is organised across five provinces such as the North Central, North Western, Eastern, Uva and Southern. More than 70 events are held during these Games where over 1800 school and more than 18,500 athletes participate.
