Workshop on enhancing quality of agriculture research

The Postgraduate Institute of Agriculture (PGIA), University of Peradeniya, in collaboration with the Institute for Research and Development (IRD) will conduct a pre-congress workshop titled ‘Enhancing the Quality of Agriculture Research with Community Engagement and Involvement (CEI)’ on November 11 (Saturday).

The workshop will be held in the PGIA’s main auditorium from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is open for stakeholders who are interested in incorporating CEI in research and the implementation process.

The eminent panel of resource persons includes Dr. Jim Elliott, Advocate for Patients in Health Research, Health Research Authority, University of Southampton, United Kingdom; Prof. Athula Sumathipala, Director, IRD and Chairman, National Institute of Fundamental Studies (NIFS) & Emeritus Professor of Global Mental Health, Kings College London: Dr. Godwin Kodituwakku, Chairman, IRD; Prof. Duminda Guruge, Department of Health Promotion, Faculty of Applied Sciences, Rajarata University; and Dr. Prabhath Ranasinghe, Consultant Community Physician, Provincial Department of Health Services, Central Province.
