Schaffter family welcomes court order that Dinesh’s death was a murder
View(s):Businessman Dinesh Schaffter’s family has welcomed the magisterial order and medical experts’ report determining that the cause of his death was a murder and not a case of suicide as claimed by some.
Chandra Schaffter, father of Dinesh Schaffter, in a statement also said the matter is now in the hands of the law enforcement officers and it is their duty to diligently follow up, identify the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
“What was more cruel was that the powerful people who got rid of him did not want to pay their debts to him, killed him in the most horrendous fashion, and they compounded the offence by moving heaven and earth to make the authorities perjure themselves to prove that it was a suicide,” Mr. Schaffter said
He said he saw the magisterial order as a restoration of the confidence in the judiciary.
He said, “It was a matter of great relief to us that the panel of doctors gave a fair report, untinged by doubt or deceit, notwithstanding the pressures that they may have faced.”
