The British School all set for Christmas carnival
View(s):Book the date! The British School in Colombo’s Parent Teacher Association will hold its popular annual Christmas Carnival – Glitter & Glee on Saturday, December 9 from 2 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Open to the public and widely attended in the past, the highlight of the evening would be the show featuring the very talented British School kids performing choral, dance and band items – they are already practising their hearts out. Live and concert style entertainment for all ages!
Next comes a very cool and edgy fashion show by the Year 13 students who will model creations by upcoming and established designers.
In a departure from previous years, the food court will be in the playground area and visitors can sample a variety of deliciousness from over 20 food vendors. The exciting cuisine ranges from Japanese, Pizza, fast food, Chinese, Vietnamese and also a dessert stall.
Another interesting change this year is the addition of more activities for young and older kids. The Snow Arena offers kids the chance to play and make a snow man with artificial snow. There will also be a climbing wall, VR Just Dance, VR car racing, galaxy ride, rodeo bull among many other attractions.
Younger children will have a bouncy castle, train ride, face painting and yummy candy floss. Christmas craft stalls, cookery, robotics and even Mehendi is also on offer.
An exciting raffle draw has also been planned for the evening. Table vendors have also lined up an array of delectable wares – chutneys, Christmas decorations, gift hampers, cakes, slime, jewellery and much more, all Christmas gifting needs with the season almost here.
Entrance for Glitter & Glee is priced at Rs.1000. Children, 5 years and under, get free entrance. Games tickets are priced at Rs.2500 (for children of 6 years and above) and Rs.1000 (for children of 5 years and below.) The Games tickets will give the children access to all rides at the carnival, unlimited times.
Tickets will be available for sale two weeks prior to the event at the school premises, at Dinemore (One Galle Face and Muttiah Road branches) and German Bakery.
