View(s):The National budget 2024 has allocated one hundred million for Nation Branding that was passed with a majority in the second reading. Marketing professional Dr Rohantha Athukorala commenting on this opinioned in Nation Brand building you cannot just build it with advertising and promises. The reputation is built over time and strong brands emerge by the rhetoric that the native people say about their own leaders, how the country is governed and talent they engage the world with. For this to be achieved it takes time and to be honest money is not required he said. You have to live the values so that the world picks up the vibes. You cannot just build it with advertising and promises that the country does not live up to” so it’s best we correct our self before we embark on such initiatives he said.
