Festive season at MLH
View(s):Mount Lavinia Hotel hosted the grand Christmas tree lighting ceremony on 26th November 2023. Dignitaries, corporate partners, hotel guests and the media attended the event. The tree was lit up by four religious leaders and the U.S. Ambassador Julie Chung under the fireworks and melodious performances of the Choirs of St. Sebastian’s College, St. Thomas’ College and St. Peter’s College.
As Anura Dewapura, Chief Operating Officer of Mount Lavinia Hotel revealed, ‘It’s the most wonderful time of the year. Christmas is all about sharing, love, kindness and getting spiritually connected with your soul. As a hotel we have planned various activities to celebrate the grace of this season’. Dewapura also appreciated the Engineering and Landscaping teams that worked tirelessly to make the ceremony a success.
The color theme for Christmas celebrations at Mount Lavinia Hotl is hot pink and silver, with the decorations adorned in these vibrant and festive shades. The choice of colors created a visually captivating and enchanting ambiance throughout the hotel, further adding to the joyous spirit of Christmas.
Under the theme of ‘Christmas around the world’, Mount Lavinia Hotel has planned a series of special events and activities. Throughout the month of December, the hotel will serve country-themed Christmas Brunches on Sundays, allowing guests to experience the traditions and cultures of different countries. The lineup includes on 3rd December- American Christmas Brunch, 10th December- Scandinavian Christmas Brunch, 17th December- British Christmas Brunch, 24th December- Christmas Eve Dinner, 25th December- Christmas Day Brunch at Empire Balroom, 25th December- Christmas Day Dinner, 26th December- Boxing Day Brunch and 31st December- New Year’s Eve Dinner Dance at the world-famous Terrace.
Each meal will be meticulously crafted to showcase the unique flavors and culinary delights of each culture, providing a truly immersive experience. To create an authentic seasonal atmosphere, a Christmas Eve Dinner will also be organized. The crowning glory of the festivities will be the Christmas Day Brunch, an event that promises to be the star of the season.
