Asian International School hosts International Schools’ Swimming Meet

The Inter-International Schools Swimming Championship was hosted by Asian International School for the 28th year in succession at the Sugathadasa Swimming Pool Complex on November 10 and 11. The event brought together nearly 1000 swimmers from 21 member schools belonging to The International Schools of Sri Lanka (TISSL).

The swimming meet this year, witnessed very high competition in both boys and girls categories resulting in a number of new records being established.  The most accomplished swimmers in each category were awarded the Age Group Championship titles.

The coveted Under-20 Age Group titles were secured by Christina Perumal of Asian International School and Kaitlyn de Zilwa of Stafford International School jointly in the Girls’ category, while Binura Talagala of Lyceum International School, Nugegoda emerged winner of the Boys’ category.

The Sports Department of Asian International School, headed by Nihara Bagoos, executed the conduct of this meet with precision and attention to detail. The Sri Lanka Aquatic Sports Union officials, who officiated at the meet, ensured that international standards were enforced in managing the event. The proceedings on the second day ended with a simple but elegant awards ceremony with the participation of several Heads of Schools of The International Schools of Sri Lanka.
