Captain of Colombo South receiving the award

“I first thought about the best thing I could do if I got to bat first according to that day’s ground condition. I thought that batting 50 overs was the best thing. And my coach said the same thing. All coaching staff gave me a lot of advice to hit this 100. Also, I wanted to score this 100 because of my team. I was a little nervous when we lost a wicket at 11, but the one down batsman Sandakan helped me a lot and we built a 100 plus runs partnership and got 256 runs .and our bowlers bowled very well and we won the final. This is a foundation innings for my future,” speaking to media, Colombo South and Royalist, Rehan Peiris said.

Colombo South’s Rehan was aptly picked as the player of the final while Yasiru Lakshan of Galle was named the best batsman of the tournament. Himani Deshan of Colombo South emerged the best bowler of the tournament.
