St. Joseph’s Junior Rugby Carnival
View(s):The Junior Rugby Carnival of St. Joseph’s College was held at the college grounds in Darley Road with the participation of all their Grade 3, 4, 5 and 6 students.
The event was organised as an Inter-Class Tournament where with student of Grades 3, 4, 5 and 6 competing in four different segments. The champion teams were presented with memorial trophies – the Late Susantha Saparamadu Trophy for Grade 3 winners, the Late Shouafu Liu Trophy for Grade 4 winners, the Late Dr. Hubert Aloysius Trophy for Grade 5 winners and the Late Ishan Perera Trophy for Grade 6 winners.
Rector of St. Joseph’s, Rev. Fr. Ranjith Andradi, Chairman of the school’s Rugby Advisory Committee Shamal Rodrigo and Chandana Kuruppu, the Chairman of the school’s Junior Rugby Committee were present at the award ceremony, where Ravi Marcelline, a distinguished old boy of St. Joseph’s who captained the First XV team in 1980, gracing the occasion as the chief guest.
