Concept décor supplier MAIC – the brainchild of dynamic duo Charith De Silva and Eric Wijerathne has created a feast for the eyes this Christmas.

Visitors to the Food Studio in CCC (Colombo City Centre) and OGF (One Galle Face) will not see the traditional seasonal décor of tinsel and bright baubles. Their innovative décor has been meticulously conceptualised to align with the Food Studio’s aim to become a food court committed to zero plastic usage.

Considering that the Food Studio has replaced plastic cutlery with wooden ones as a first step, MAIC took this initiative and incorporated it into the décor by replacing the traditional plastic Christmas tree with one made of wooden spoons and forks. The wreaths too are made of spoons and forks to complement the tree.

“Personalised décor comes with a lot of trial and error as attention to detail is top priority for us,” said Charith explaining that it was months of hard work and love that made a design drawn on paper into a reality.

In an industry dominated by floral arrangements, MAIC strives to decorate spaces with innovative materials bringing out the customer’s character and ideas.
