Christmas decor spreads Christmas cheer in the city

Colombo city has come alive with many areas being decked with Christmas décor. Although the festive spirit is markedly less with many people facing economic hardships, people can still enjoy the sights and sounds of the season.
The lit up lotus tower stands out among the sights while Christmas cheer is abundant at Galle Face Green with an illuminated towering veggie Christmas tree and festive music ringing out as part of a Tourism Authority programme, attracting both locals and tourists.
Other illuminated sights include the Independence Square, the Colombo Municipal Council building and Marino Mall, City hotels, roundabouts and streets Baybrooke place and Thimbirigasyaya are also a sight for sore eyes.
