President addresses education concerns during talks in North
View(s):Steps are underway to set aside finances for the recruitment of teachers to fill vacancies, and to allot land for the Jaffna Teaching Hospital, President Ranil Wickremesinghe said in a discussion with representatives of the youth community, health and education sectors, and the Jaffna District Secretariat on Saturday (6).
Prioritising needs-based funding, and an immediate distribution of funds to address education concerns in the North, have been recently highlighted.
A Senior Professor from the University of Jaffna (UoJ) handed over a proposal to the President addressing the deficiencies within the UoJ and outlining recommendations for the enhancement of its physical and human resources, which President Wickremesinghe said he will address.
