HNB, Air Force, Ports, Navy reach semis
The defending champions, Hatton National Bank (HNB), Air Force, Port Authority and Navy secured spots in the semi-finals of the Dialog Netball Championships with comfortable victories in the quarter-final matches held at the Albert F. Peiris Stadium in Wennappuwa yesterday.
HNB, the front-runner to clinch the title for the sixth consecutive year, cruised to a 31-7 victory over KDU. Last year’s runner-up, Air Force, dominated against Army with a 25-8 win while Ports Authority triumphed over Kalutara HFC by 33-16. Navy outperformed Kurunegala with a convincing 20-3 victory.
The semi-finals, scheduled for today starting at 8.00 a.m., will witness HNB facing Navy, and Air Force competing against Ports Authority. The final is set to take place at 2.00 p.m.
