Inaugural ‘Fondre’ Relay Olympiad on January 27
View(s):For the first time in Sri Lanka, 18 schools – both present and past athletes will participate in a Relay Carnival which will be conducted across eight age categories from Under-16 to Over-50. The girls’ schools invited to participate are St. Bridget’s Convent, Holy Family Convent, Good Shepherd Convent Kotahena, St. Lawrence’s Convent, Musaeus College, Bishop’s College, Ladies’ College, Methodist College, and Visakha Vidyalaya whilst the boys’ schools include St. Joseph’s College, St. Peter’s College, St. Benedict’s College, Wesley College, Royal College, S. Thomas’ College, Ananda College, Nalanda College and D.S. Senanayake College.
There will be 4x100m relays, medley relays and mixed relays and all participating schools and their alumni are expected to register their best relay teams. The organisers anticipate to host the event amidst a carnival atmosphere at Torrington with entertainment for participants and their supporters and schools alumni.
