Thilina Kandambi, who led Jaffna Kings to three straights titles at the Lanka Premier League, has decided to step down from the head coach position. The former Sri Lanka cricketer was part of the side since the inception but has now decided to look for other opportunities.

“As I pen down these words, a wave of mixed emotions engulfs me, but it is with a grateful heart that I announce my decisions to step down as the Head Coach of the incredible franchise Jaffna Kings. It is time for new beginnings and fresh perspectives for both the franchise and myself,” Kandambi wrote on X.

He is currently attached to Sri Lanka Cricket’s High Performance Centre as a coach and more recently provided his services to the national team as its batting coach during the concluded Zimbabwe series.
