A stirring thanksgiving
View(s):It was a packed gathering that was present at the Cathedral of Christ the Living Saviour on Saturday, January 20 for ‘How Great Thou Art’ – a programme of thanksgiving by the De Lanerolle Brothers for their successful 15 year journey in song.
Joined by Neranjan De Silva on organ and the voices of OKTAVE, the Music Ministry Choir and Friends, also timpanist Neomal Weerakoon, the Brothers’ beautiful programme of hymns and well-loved songs was an emotional and stirring experience for many who had enjoyed hearing them sing in the magnificent Anglican Cathedral where Ishan had been Director of the Cathedral Choir for ten years.
As we embark on our 15th year, we begin by expressing gratitude to God for this incredible journey. We are blessed to have 1,200 people joining us to praise God, Ishan told the Sunday Times. He added that Rohan and he are grateful for their robust support network – partners, sponsors, musicians, production team and audience, mentioning especially Neranjan, OKTAVE, Music Ministry and friends ‘who made such a joyful fragrance’.
