Upward revision in President Fund scholarship grants
View(s):Under the President’s and the Presidential Secretary’s guidance, the President’s Fund has improved the scholarship programme and increased the grants. The President has decided to increase the monthly allowance from Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 6,000 from February this year in response to students’ requests, the President’s Office said.
This adjustment aims to enhance scholarship recipients’ financial stability and uninterrupted learning until they take the G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L) Examination.
In addition, the President’s Fund plans to provide grants to 5,000 students who achieve the highest scores in the G.C.E. Ordinary Level (O/L) Examination.
A monthly allowance of Rs. 6,000 will be given to each selected student until their schooling is completed. Scholarships are expected to be awarded following the conclusion of the regional selection process, which is being actively conducted by the President’s Fund in all provinces.
This initiative aims to assist financially disadvantaged students, ensuring they have the means to pursue their education without any obstacles.
