The spectacular concert of the year ‘The Legacy of Clarence and Milton’ the first of its kind in Sri Lanka featuring Rajiv Sebastian and Ranil Mallawarachchi (Based in Australia) will come alive at the Musaeus College Auditorium on 16th February 2024.

‘The Legacy of Clarence and Milton’ is organized by ‘Star Lanka Music’ in commemorating the 80th Birth Anniversary of ‘Clarence Wijewardena, the ‘Godfather of Sinhala Pop’, who revolutionised Sri Lankan music during the late 60s and 70s and the 25th Death Anniversary of the teenage heart throb of the same era the legendary ‘Milton Mallawarachchi’.

Ranil Mallawarachchi, the son of late Milton Mallawarachchi’ and Rajiv Sebastian are billed to share the limelight and the legendary Indrani Perera, Shyami Fonseka and Lilanthi Karunanayake will join the duo on duets. The new born Prince of Tamil Pop ‘Babu Jayakanthan’ will be flown all the way from Markham, Ontario, Canada to give a new breath of life to the late Tamil Pop Chakrawarthi A. E. Manoharan with his all-time hits ‘Muruga’, ‘Meenachchi’ etc,.

While emcee Vijaya Corea would unfold the hidden facts of Sinhala Pop, in the presence of Sheela Wijewardena, the wife of the late Clarence Wijewardena, the original music of the 70s will be regenerated by ‘Rajiv and The Clan’ using almost the same instruments used on the original recordings.

The choreography will be handled by the glamorous Gayani Karunarathne of ‘Gayani Dance Studio’ reproducing the original visuals of the popular film hits such as ‘Wasanthaye Mal Kekulayi’ (Indrani Perera) featuring the original actress Swineetha Weerasinghe (‘Sikuruliya’).

‘Gearing up to perform in my hometown Colombo after 30 years along with Rajiv Sebastian  and other legendary singers and musicians, I am so excited to perform Tamil pop songs of our legendary singers’ stated Babu.
