Sri Lanka will play two ICC Test Championship (WTC) matches against Bangladesh in Sylhet and Chattogram from March 22, the schedule announced by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) says.

The second and final Test will start on March 30 at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram. Having lost the first two Tests in the current cycle against Pakistan last year, Sri Lanka currently sits at the bottom of the table.

Thus, the series will be an important one for Dhananjaya de Silva’s men to make a winning start to the new cycle. During their last visit to Bangladesh, Sri Lanka clinched the series 1-0 in 2022.

The two-match Tests will be preceded by three ODIs and as many T20Is. The white-ball leg will start with the T20 series in Sylhet on March 4, 6 and 9. The first two matches are scheduled to start from 6:00p.m. local time, while the third game is from 3:00p.m.

The teams will then move to Chattogram to play the three-match ODI series, on March 13, 15 and 18. The first two ODIs are day-night games, while the third ODI starts at 10:00a.m., the earliest start in an ODI in Bangladesh in the last 11 years.

The Sri Lankan team will arrive in Bangladesh on March 1 and travel to Sylhet on the same day. After the end of the T20I series on March 9, the teams will move to Chattogram where a three-match ODI series will be held from March 13 to 18. The series will then move back to Sylhet for the first Test which will begin on March 22.
