People’s Bank celebrates Independence Week by offering Isuru Udana gift vouchers for newborns
View(s):Continuing its annual tradition, the People’s Bank proudly launched the 17th edition of its Birth of Freedom programme to mark Sri Lanka’s 76th Independence Day.
The official launch will be held today at Castle Street Hospital for Women and De Soysa Hospital for Women in Colombo in the presence of bank chairman Sujeewa Rajapakse and CEO/GM Clive Fonseka.
Expressing enthusiasm for the programme, Nalin Pathiranage, Deputy General Manager (Retail Banking), stated, ‘People’s Bank has consistently led the way in shaping a bright future for the children of Sri Lanka. On February 4th, we celebrate Independence Day by carrying out the ‘Birth of Freedom’ programme conducted for the 17th time.”
Aimed at supporting every child born from February 1 to 14, People’s Bank staff will visit hospitals, presenting newborns with Isuru Udana gift vouchers worth Rs. 2,000. Parents or guardians can take the gift voucher, along with the child’s birth certificate, to their nearest People’s Bank branch and promptly open an Isuru Udana Children’s Savings Account for the child.
Launched in 1998, the Isuru Udana Account encourages parents to save for their children from an early stage, offering special interest rates and attractive gifts as the account balance grows.
On the 76th Independence Day, People’s Bank renews its
commitment to instill pride in Sri Lankans, securing the future of children through financial stability—the wisest gift for true independence.
