Air Force SC recorded a runaway 41-14 win against Navy SC in a Plate Segment match of the SLR Nippon Paint Club Rugby League played at Welisara yesterday.

Leading 26-7 at halftime, the Airmen scored at will and ended up with a tally of six tries, four conversions and a penalty, earning a bonus point, in a dead rubber affair. The Sailors, who have had a winless season so far, scored from two converted tries.

The Airmen scored from time to time with Nirmal Wickramasinghe, Shamika Kaushan, Kavisha Ruchintha, Rumesh Wasantha, Sudath Bandara and Jason Karunaratne scoring tries at regular intervals. Flyhalf Pramod Padmasanka had a day to remember, putting over four tries and a penalty.

For the Sailors, Stephan Gregory and Anusha Ramesh braced a try each on either half, with Ishara Imanka and Isuru Kongahawatte making a conversion each. Police SC have already secured the Plate title, following their win against Army SC on Friday with a week to go.
