Kamindu and Sangeeth shine with centuries
The third day of the four-day National Super League matches at the Rangiri Dambulla Stadium and Sooriyawewa Stadium witnessed remarkable centuries by Kamindu Mendis for Dambulla and Sangeeth Cooray for Galle.
Kamindu displayed an outstanding unbeaten innings of 167 runs, adorned with 23 boundaries. He formed a formidable partnership of 149 runs for the fifth wicket with Sonal Dinusha, who contributed 64 runs. Dambulla ended the day at 325 for 6 in their second innings.
Meanwhile, Sangeeth’s brilliant 193, including 18 boundaries and six sixes, was the highlight for Galle. He shared two significant century partnerships; firstly, an opening stand of 186 runs with Oshada Fernando, and then a 113-run stand for the third wicket with Pasindu Sooriyabandara. Galle declared their innings at 361 for 4. Jaffna faced a daunting target of 442 runs and struggled to 37 for 3 by the end of the day. The matches will resume today.
