Skipper Sineth Jayawardena and Yenula Bandara combined to claim

14 wickets, propelling Royal to a commanding victory by an innings and 61 runs over St. Peter’s in the Under-19 Inter-School cricket match held at Reid Avenue yesterday. Royal beat St. Peter’s after 38 years since winning under Roshan Juranpathy in 1986.

On the second day of play, St. Peter’s, responding to Royal’s declaration at 364 for 5,  were bowled out for 190 runs, with Skipper Sineth and Yenula leading the bowling attack.

Trailing by 174 runs, St. Peter’s was forced to follow-on but faltered once again against the bowling duo of
Sineth and Yenula, succumbing for a mere 113 runs.

Senitha Halambage of Dharmasoka MV amassed 222 runs, including 26 boundaries and three sixes, against Ananda, while Janith Ravishka of Trinity piled up 241 runs with 33 boundaries and a six against Wesley.
