GOONESEKERA, BASIL (D.B.) – Retired Admiral, Sri Lanka Navy. Beloved husband of Clara, Loving father of Srianga, Piyal, Kapila and Ranil. Beloved brother of late Lois, late Lloyd, late Beryl and late Hugh. Devoted grandfather of Kumarini, Kanishka, Aishwara, Aarushi, Hiranya, Karvin, Nuwan and Kaushalya, expired. Remains lie at 50/6 Anula Road, Pamankada, Colombo 6. Cremation at 5 pm on Sunday, 18 February at General Cemetery, (old crematorium), Borella.
Basnayake – Dr. Sriani Wife of the late Ralph Wickremeratne, mother of Shariya and Yasassri Mendis, sister of Nirmala Labrooy and the late Dr. Lakdasa (Laki) Dissanayaka. Remains will lie at A. F. Raymond funeral parlour on Monday, 19th February, from 9.00 a.m. onwards. Cortege leaves parlour on the same day at 2.30 p.m. for cremation at 3.00 p.m. at the General Cemetery, Borella (old crematorium). No flowers by request please.

Mother in law of Zacky Marikar, late Al Haj Naushad Nazim, Fiaz Samad & Ramziya Lukman. Ever loving grandmother of Arshad, Ilma, Wasim & Laaiq. Loving sister of late M.M. Shafie, late M.M. Samsudeen, late Naleefa Ameen, late Razeena Raleen, late M.M. Hussain, late Zahira Mohideen, late Saleela Marikar Bawa, late M.M. Marzook, late Salma Hanim Bahaudeen and late M.M. Anzary. We the members of the family of late Ummu Majida Mahmood wish to express our deep gratitude and extend our heartfelt thanks to all relatives, friends, neighbours and colleagues who honoured her by their presence, messages of condolence and assisted us in numerous ways during our grief.
