Tucked inside the hustle and bustle of Stratford Avenue’s boutique shops, Café Chocolate by Chocolate Clicks is the perfect spot to take a break and enjoy some feel-good chocolate-based cakes, cookies, and brownies along with a hot or cold drink.
It was during lockdown that sisters Navodya and Amandya Weerathunga got together and experimented with chocolate and baking – two things that could never go wrong! Their home-based venture quickly turned into a massive success with their signature items selling out in a couple of hours. While balancing out their other responsibilities the two sisters slowly worked their way into establishing their first branch in the heart of Colombo and the next one in Rajagiriya.
The café serves up some gooey chocolate brownies, cookies, truffles, cake slices, and a variation of savoury sandwiches with tuna, curry chicken, and scrambled egg fillings. They have a note-worthy beverage menu that comprises coffee-based hot and cold drinks, classic to flavoured teas, and some innovative shakes to cool off the heat.

LA LUNA
The Italian pizzeria and café down Lauries Road, Bambalapitiya was, would you believe it, an abandoned property. Now converted into an aesthetically pleasing hangout that is perfect for brunch with family or to wind down with friends over a slice after work, the space was taken over by Gayathri and Thilina – architects by profession who were looking to venture out into the restaurant industry.
After many months of hands-on renovation and styling, the cafe is now open for pizza lovers looking to enjoy Italian pizza with a Lankan twist. They are also expanding to the sunny shores of Weligama in the coming months. The restaurant offers fully authentic Italian Pizza like Neapolitan and Capricciosa, some localised toppings, a variety of pasta, a newly added burger menu, and an extensive beverage menu with coffees, teas and coolers and mocktails ideal for topping with the spirit of your choice.
