Dilhari leads Kandy to second win
Kandy Women skipper Kaveesha Dilhari continued her batting form with a quick-fire 48-ball knock of 58, inclusive of nine boundaries, to help her side to record a thrilling 6-run win over Galle Women in the Women’s National Super League T20 tournament encounter played at the Colts ground yesterday.
In fact this was her second successive half ton which enabled Kandy Women to make a modest score of 114 runs after electing to bat first. Galle Women, in their run chase, were restricted to 108 runs. A ton knock of 53 in 44 balls with eight boundaries by skipper Hasini Perera, who shared a valuable 72 runs for the third wicket with Piyumi Wathsala, paved the way for Colombo Women to coast to an easy 6-wicket win over Dambulla Women in the other match.
