‘Babu’ shines at the ‘Clarence and Milton’ Concert’
View(s):The recently concluded ‘The Legacy Of Clarence and Milton’ Concert organised by Rajiv Sebastian of Starlanka Music at the Musaeus College Auditorium was the first ever show attended by the Prince of Tamil Pop ‘Babu Jayakanthan’ from Canada.
‘The concert ended successfully and was well attended with the fans of Clarence and Milton. The music loaned the highlight of the day was the rendition of the all-time hit ‘Kanda Surindu- Katharagama’ by Jeganathan Babu Jayakanthan, popularly known as Babu. Babu sang the Tamil version of the song made popular by A. E. Manoharan’ said Rajiv.
A warm welcome was given to Mrs. Sheela Wijewardena (wife of the legendary Clarence Wijewardena) and Ranil Mallawarachchi, who arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport on 8th February with the courtesy of Sri Lankan Airlines to perform at ‘The Legacy Of Clarence & Milton’.
While Ranil Mallawarachchi, the son of late Milton Mallawarachchi and Rajiv Sebastian share the limelight, the legendary Indrani Perera, Shyami Fonseka and Lilanthi Karunanayake, Vernon Perera, Tyrone Mihindukula (son of late Mervyn Mihindukula) performed with their 70s popular hits.
The choreography for the popular songs was handled by the glamorous Gayani Karunarathne of ‘Gayani Dance Studio’ reproducing the original visuals of the popular film hits ‘Wasanthaye Mal Kekulayi’ by Indrani Perera and ‘Kanda Surindune’ by Babu.
Vijaya Corea was the emcee of the Concert.
