View(s): Reference to article in the Sunday Times sports page of February 25, as a former Sri Lanka player, SSC captain, CCC captain and Nomads player, I wish to comment on the question put forward by you – ‘Was Wanidu’s action an act of heroism or nastiness?’. I feel it was an act of heroism.
His ability as a captain is excellent, however it should not be to control an umpire’s decision. This incident is a good lesson for all future captains to be, in any form of competitive cricket. Please note this is my own judgment and personal opinion.
