‘Daisy’ comes alive at BS
View(s):‘Daisy Pulls It Off’ – a heart-warming and charming stage play written by Denise Deegan will perform by the Senior School students of the British School in Colombo from 13 to 16 March, 2024 at the school auditorium.
A huge hit in London’s west-end in the 1980s, ‘Daisy pulls it off’ is a comic parody of the popular girls’ school adventure stories of the 1920/30s (especially Enid Blyton’s ‘Mallory Towers’ series), while simultaneously poking fun at the ridiculous pomposity of traditional ‘British’ attitudes at that time. Set in the 1920s it is a parody of life at a Girls’ boarding school with a clear message to us all to be more accepting of others, to judge less, and know that we have much to learn from each other no matter what our background.
A tale of gumption, friendship and standing up for what is right, ‘Daisy Pulls It Off’ is a play that leaves us all with the message that being a good and moral person is truly the best superpower.
This production of “Daisy Pulls It Off” is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals Ltd on behalf of Samuel French Ltd. (www.concordtheatricals.co.uk)
