Tharusha, Sethika shine in drawn match
Tharusha Dilhara and skipper Sethika Dilmith delivered standout performances for Piliyandala Central College on the second day against their traditional rivals Taxila Central, Horana in the 22nd Battle of Raigam Salpiti big match, which ended in a draw at De Zoysa Stadium in Moratuwa yesterday.
Tharusha scored an impressive 138 with 21 boundaries, while Sethika reached a century, hitting nine boundaries and a six. The duo put on a massive partnership of 190 runs for the fifth wicket, guiding Piliyandala Central from their overnight score of 64 for 4 to a formidable total of 323 runs in response to Taxila Central’s 280 for 8 declared on day one.
