CCC School of Cricket take wings in 25th foreign tour
View(s):Sri Lanka’s premier cricket coaching school under veteran coach Nelson Mendis, will be making their 25th cricket tour abroad, when their Under-12 and Under-15 teams took wings to Bangalore, India on April 10. During the tour, they are scheduled to play eight matches during their eight days tour, against coaching academies and clubs in Bangalore. All matches will be played on turf wickets, and will provide the younger cricketers with much needed experience, but in different conditions.
The Under-15 team will be captained by experience batsman Omith Ratnayake, who plays for Nalanda College, while his deputy will be Nadew Dodamgoda, a left-arm orthodox spinner, also from the same school. The Under 12 team, will have another Nalanda junior cricketer – Nadil Dodamgoda, who has done extremely well at Inter-Academy Tournaments with his left-arm medium fast bowling. He is also a top order batter with a series of high scores recently. His deputy will be Rashindu Jayasinghe, another talented allrounder who opens batting and bowls right-arm off spin. He represents, St. Benedict’s College, Colombo.
Tour officials will be Nelson Mendis (Chief-de-Mission), Harsha Peiris (Manager), Shivalingam Ravichandra (Asst. Manager) and Thusara Hitige (Coach). Tour Coordinator from Bangalore, is Sashidharan Narayan, the Head Coach of Frank Anthony Public School (FAPS) who has made all arrangements for the tour.
