Sri Wijyarama Rajamaha Viharaya declared a sacred area

The historic Sri Wijyarama Rajamaha Viharaya has been declared a sacred area (Pooja Bhoomi). The Deed of Gift (Pooja Bhoomi Sannasa) bearing this declaration was presented at a ceremony held yesterday to Chief Incumbent of the Sri Wijyarama Rajamaha Viharaya, Saddharma Keerthi Ven. Sri Amunumulle Jinarathana Thera.
Ministers Susil Premajayantha, Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe and MP Madhura Withanage first presented the Deed of Gift to the Mahanayake of the Kotte Sri Kalayani Samagri Dharma Maha Sangha Sabha and Chancellor of the Sri Jayewardenepura University, Agga Maha Panditha Most Ven. Dr. Ittapana Dhammalankara Thera.The Most Ven. Dhammalankara Thera then presented the deed to Ven. Jinarathana Thera.
