Ananda College sweeps Colombo Rowing Club Opening Regatta
View(s):The Ananda College rowing crew claimed a whitewash the Opening Regatta 2024 organised by the Colombo Rowing Club by winning all the men’s events, beating Royal College and S. Thomas’ College, Mt. Lavinia convincingly. The Ananda rowing crew had their full input to win the Gordon Armstrong Trophy after eight years and also won the Vanlangenberg Trophy for the second consecutive year, marking the first time in the history of the school to win all the men’s events in this regatta.
Ramindu Aryasinghe claimed the Gordon Armstrong Scull with his team mate Ichira Sithmal second while the Vangenberg Pair was won by Sandila Sujayana and Yuneth Balasooriya. Sihas Mandilu won the Under-14 Single Scull with Mihala Nagamuwa following at second. Both Sihas and Mihala paired up to win the Under-14 Double Scull as well.
