Major Club T20 begins today
The eagerly anticipated domestic cricket event, organised by
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), will commence today with the Major Club T20 Tournament. The competition features 18 teams split into four groups, with defending co-champions NCC and Colts placed in Group ‘A’ and Group ‘D’ respectively.
NCC is grouped with CCC, Police SC, Ragama CC, and Nugegoda S&WC, while Colts will compete against Bloomfield, Panadura SC, Kurunegala YCC, and Kandy Customs.
The other two groups consist of four teams each, are Moors SC, BRC, Chilaw Marians, and Badureliya CC in Group ‘B’, and Ace Capital, Tamil Union, SSC, and Negombo CC in Group ‘C’.
Today, four matches are set to be played across two venues — Reid Avenue and Surrey Village in Maggona. CCC will face Nugegoda S&WC, while Police SC takes on Ragama CC in the morning and evening matches at Reid Avenue. Bloomfield and Panadura SC will play against Kandy Customs SC and Kurunegala YCC in the morning and evening sessions at Maggona.
