Mahajana Jaffna and Gampola International emerge champs at Milo U-12 Football Carnival

Mahajana College, Jaffna and Gampola International School emerged victorious as cup champions at the Nestlé Milo Under-12 Sri Lanka Inter-School Football Carnival 2024 held at the Racecourse grounds in Colombo last weekend.

The tournament organised by Sri Lanka Schools Football Association, under the guidance of the Ministry of Education and sponsored by Nestle Milo, saw Mahajana College, Jaffna beat Maliyadeva Girls’ School, Kurunegala by 2-0 in the Girls’ Cup final.

The Boy’s Cup final ended in draw after a fierce battle, and the winner was determined through a penalty shootout, where Gampola International School overcame St. Joseph’s College, Anuradhapura by 5-4. A total of 112 teams covering schools across 25 districts took part at the grand finale.
