Behavioural psychologist conferred British Psychological Society fellowship
View(s):The British Psychological Society has awarded a fellowship to Dr Anton James, founder and director of The Tree House International.
The fellowship was granted in recognition of Dr James’ contributions in the field of behavioural psychology and the treatment of autism. Dr James is a professional behavioural psychologist and behaviour analyst with American certification.
With over 20 years of expertise in assessing, planning, executing, and monitoring the effectiveness of behavioural interventions for children with special needs, as well as managing experts in the area, he is a subject matter expert in behaviour therapy.
Dr James has honed a wide range of abilities, including the diagnosis, evaluation, and treatment of disorders like ASD, ADHD, SPD, ODD, intellectual challenges, picky eating and learning challenges, and far more.
He started his studies at the University of Toronto, where he earned his psychology undergraduate degree. Driven by his steadfast love of special education, he continued his education at Penn State University in the United States.
He completed a postgraduate course at Penn State in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and became the first Sri Lankan-born Board Certified Behavioural Analyst (BCBA) in history.
In addition to serving as a professional advisory board member and subject matter expert for the International Behavior Analyst Organization, he is the president of the behaviour therapist board of Sri Lanka.
