Jason Rajasinghe wins ‘Telly Awards’ in USA
View(s):RAD Productions USA and Sri Lankan filmmaker Jason Rajasinghe win Gold and Silver awards, respectively at the 45th Telly Awards in the US recently.
The awards honour video and television across all screens, and is selected by a team of judges from Netflix, Adobe, Sphere Studios MSG and from all cross sections of the television industry.
The recognition was awarded for its commercial production – Stoney Acres: Farm to Table Pizza, winning the Gold People’s Telly Award for Online Commercial and Jason Rajasinghe receiving the Silver Telly Award for Craft-Directing.
Jason Rajasinghe notes, ‘I am grateful for the opportunity to tell Stoney Acres’ story yet again, this time through a new lens alongside the owner Tony Schultz who produced this with us. This is another win for Sri Lanka, and I hope it continues to serve and inspire the youth to see the potential in our people’s ability to impact the film industry both locally and internationally. Passions can turn into greater purpose, and for that I honour my WOWLife Church’.
Jason has officially started film Production Company called RAD PRODUCTIONS USA with his wife Hope Rajasinghe and his long running business partner Annika Senanayake.
RAD Productions USA is currently in production of its own original documentary series ORIGIN: The Road to Ancestral Roots, an insight into the reconciliation of our food, which is anticipated for international release in 2025. Sri Lankan born film producer and travel and tourism enthusiast Jason Rajasinghe bagged his first Emmy Award for his work on Season 1 of ‘Uniquely Wisconsin’ ‘Farm to Table Pizzas’ at the 65th Annual Chicago/Midwest Emmy Awards in 2023.
The category was Outstanding Achievement for Lifestyle – Official Videographer for Season 1, Episode ‘Farm to table pizzas: The little red barn’ with the media company Discover Mediaworks for their new show “Uniquely Wisconsin”.
Jason has been developing the guerilla film industry in Sri Lanka through his company IFILMSRILANKA FOR 10+ YEARS with his business partner Annika Senanayake. They aim to educate and help the youth take the step into making their career in the industry through their internship programme.
