Sri Lanka universities ranked globally for achieving SDG4
View(s):The Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2024 has placed the Rajarata University of Sri Lanka (RUSL) between 801 and 1,000 worldwide universities for achieving the fourth Sustainable Development Goal (SDG): High-quality education.
The University of Colombo (UoC), University of Peradeniya (UoP) and General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) have been ranked between 601-800 among global universities.
Published annually by Times Higher Education magazine in the United Kingdom (UK), the Times Higher Education World University Rankings is a compilation of university rankings including by subject and reputation.
The University Impact Rankings for 2024 were released by Times Higher Education on Wednesday (12), recognising and honouring universities that demonstrate excellence in addressing several SDGs of the United Nations.
Western Sydney University in Australia was ranked one for the third year in a row.
The Universities of Tasmania in Australia and University of Manchester in the UK were tied for second position. Aalborg University in Denmark is ranked fourth. With 96 institutions, India holds the highest representation. -NA
