In a significant move towards empowering women and promoting financial inclusion in Sri Lanka, NDB Bank has partnered with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) to conduct a series of training programmes for female entrepreneurs. These initiatives organised under NDB’s Banking on Women platform and NDB Araliya, the bank’s dedicated women’s proposition, aim to equip women with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in today’s competitive business environment, the bank said in a media release.

The training programmes, held in multiple locations across the country, have seen enthusiastic participation from about 120 female entrepreneurs. The sessions cover a wide range of topics essential for business growth, including business planning and management, branding, marketing, and the transition to digital and online marketing strategies.

The collaboration between NDB Bank and IFC underscores the importance of supporting female entrepreneurs and promoting gender equality in the business sector. By providing women with access to training and resources, NDB Bank is helping to create a more inclusive and diverse business landscape in Sri Lanka.

One of the key highlights of the training programmes is the focus on digital transformation. In today’s digital age, having a strong online presence is crucial for business success. The sessions in Negombo, for example, emphasised the importance of going digital and adopting online marketing strategies to reach a wider audience and drive business growth.

Furthermore, the training programmes aim to instill a sense of confidence and empowerment among female entrepreneurs. By providing them with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed, NDB Bank is not only supporting women in business but also contributing to the overall economic development of Sri Lanka.

The collaboration between NDB Bank and IFC is a testament to the bank’s commitment to empowering women and promoting financial inclusion in Sri Lanka. Through initiatives like these, NDB Bank is paving the way for a more inclusive and prosperous future for all Sri Lankans.
