He was addressing students at the inauguration of a three-storey building at Buddhist Girls’ National College in Kirimatiyana, Chilaw.
Placing emphasis on how education remains the nation’s greatest asset, the President said the government has made funding for education a top priority, integrating new technology even though the country faces economic difficulties.
The government’s plan for swift advancement and economic transformation must be embraced by everybody to realise the goal of the nation’s growth, the President said.
The government intends to reopen the Madampe Economic Zone and convert the region into a centre for information technology, tourism, and business. -NA
