CIPM Sri Lanka, the Sri Lanka’s premier Human Resource Institution, announced a strategic partnership with Sri Lanka’s cricket sensation Chamari Athapaththu, appointing her as their new brand ambassador. The collaboration was officially revealed at a media conference held at the CIPM Sri Lanka premises.

Chamari Athapaththu, the captain of the Sri Lanka women’s cricket team, was recently awarded the ICC Women’s Player of the Month for the second time. Her stellar performance in May 2024, which included powering Sri Lanka to the highest successful run-chase in women’s ODIs, earned her the top spot in the ICC Women’s ODI batting rankings. Athapaththu’s unbeaten 195 in the chase against a record target of 302 is the third-highest score in women’s ODIs and the second-highest score in a successful run chase in ODI cricket, second only to Glenn Maxwell’s 201 not out against Afghanistan in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.

CIPM Sri Lanka honoured Athapaththu by appointing her as its brand ambassador. This recognises her exceptional leadership and international acclaim which will provide CIPM immense mileage to position its brand among students and other stakeholders.

As brand ambassador, Athapaththu will not only provide CIPM with the opportunity of identifying her as its brand ambassador but will serve as a beacon of inspiration for CIPM students, staff and other stakeholders.

The event was a resounding success, graced by the presence of prominent dignitaries such as Ken Vijayakumar, the President of CIPM, Priyantha Ranasinghe, the Vice President, Col. Saman Jayawickrama (Retd), the Honorary Secretary, Priyankara Seneviratne, the Honorary Treasurer, and U.A.C. Obeyesekere, the Chief Executive Officer of CIPM.
