The Graduate Institute of Science and Management, which is known as “GISM”, helps students to study in New Zealand with affordable cost under a credit transfer arrangement. This study model works well with a saving of a significant amount of hard currency in this country. Developing a strong collaboration as the Education and Research Partner, GISM offers a number of Bachelors and Masters pathway programmes with the University of New Zealand, which is very much known as “Massey University”. This pathway programme enables our students to study in Sri Lanka and transfer to New Zealand to complete the remaining part of their degree under well-guided study and transfer arrangement.

Study Programmes

With the Degree Pathway Arrangement, students can study their first year or first two years in Sri Lanka at GISM and move to Massey University to complete their degree. This is possible due to the Articulation Credit Transfer Programme through which students earn credits which are considered as equivalent to the credits offered in the relevant year/s of Massey University. This credit transfer arrangement will not cause any effect on the recognition of the qualification that the students gain from Massey University.

Over 25 Bachelor degree majour pathways in Business, Information Science, Engineering, Construction, Agribusiness and Bioscience, and Masters pathways in Science (Bioscience), Construction, Quantity Surveying, Management and Emergency management are offered in collaboration with Massey University in New Zealand.

After completing their bachelor’s degree, GISM students receive a special 15% discount should they decide to continue with their Master Degree programme. Also, there is an opportunity for the students to be accompanied by their families when they go to New Zealand for master-level courses. Post completion, students can apply for a work visa. Upon finding a permanent job offer in New Zealand they will be qualified to apply for a permanent resident’s visa.

If you are joining GISM’s pathway arrangements, you can enter directly with Local or London A/L’s or, through GISM foundation course if you have good O/L results. If you already have a degree or equivalent qualification, you can join GISM to follow a postgraduate programme to transfer to Massey University to complete the Masters in one year.
