UCL Monash Graduation 2024
View(s):Universal College Lanka (UCL), the exclusive partner for Monash education in Sri Lanka, held its annual UCL Monash Graduation Ceremony in a grand scale at the Imperial Ballroom, Monarch Imperial recently.
Held for the eighth successive year, the Graduating Class of 2023/2024 comprised over 200 students who successfully completed the Monash University Foundation Year (MUFY) and the Monash College Diploma (MCD) at UCL. The students who successfully completed the Monash University Foundation Year and Monash College Diploma gain a Guaranteed Entry to the prestigious Monash University ranked 37th in the QS World University Rankings 2025. Exemplifying the commitment to world class higher education in Sri Lanka, UCL has produced over 440 Monash Global Awards of Excellence over the last 9 years.
Ranruk Perera, a past pupil of St. Joseph’s College, who commenced his Monash journey at UCL by joining the Monash College Diploma, emerged as the Valedictorian at the UCL Graduation 2024. Winning a UCL High Achiever Award for MCD Business in the process, he had the privilege of securing a generous scholarship to gain entry to the second year of the Bachelor of Business degree at Monash University Malaysia.

Senithu Jayasuriya, UCL High Achiever Award winner for MCD Engineering, was named Salutatorian, while Chameli Dias, another UCL High Achiever award winner, emerged as the Third Award Winner. Yenuli Halangode and Achintha Fernando also won UCL High Achiever Awards for MCD Science and MCD IT, respectively. Fathima Imran was recognised with a UCL High Achiever Award for MUFY.

The UCL Graduation Ceremony 2024 was graced by the presence of Australian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, His Excellency Paul Stephens, as Chief Guest. Executive Director of Monash College, Mr. Matt Carter, served as the Keynote Speaker and Guest of Honour. Other distinguished guests included Director UCL and Chairman Gateway Group of Organisations, Dr. Harsha Alles, Director UCL, Mr. Steven Enderby, Provost of UCL, Dr. Dhananjay Kulkarni, COO UCL, Ms. Erandi Dodamwala, and CMO UCL, Mr. Yasith Gamage, along with the faculty, management, and staff of UCL.
