Sounds of Summer- Annual Music Concert by the Russian School of Music
View(s):‘Sounds of Summer’, the annual Music Concert presented by the Russian School of Music was held at the Russian House recently.
The Russian School of Music is the oldest school at the Russian Centre (since its inception in 1973 at the Soviet Cultural Centre), the music school has come a long way under the guidance of a number of Music coordinators and island-known Instructors.
A new logo featuring the world-famous Russian Composer Tchaikovsky was launched at the Concert by Maria Popova, the First Secretary of the Russian Embassy and Head of the Russian House in Colombo and Buddhapriya Ramanayake, Chief Executive Officer.
The Concert had over 40 participants, performing three instrumental segments- the Piano, Violin and Guitar under the guidance of eight experienced teachers.
Kishani Amarasekara, Lasni Vidyaratne, Eshanthika Fernando, Lilibeth Fernando, Rozali Fernando, Taniya De Zilva, Mahela Deshan and the most recent addition to the group of teachers, Tharushi Amanda with the Russian School of Music Coordinator, Komudi Pinnedoowe.
With a packed audience including parents and the officials from the Russian House, the concert successfully concluded with a prize giving and felicitating the teachers.
