Online system for teacher transfers and promotions: President Ranil
View(s):President Ranil Wickremesinghe said that he has discussed with the Education Minister the future of teacher transfers and promotions through an online system, ensuring no injustice.
He was addressing a ceremony on Wednesday (3), at Temple Trees, where teaching appointments were given to graduates and certificate holders, and appointments to officers of the Education Administrative Service were made.
Noting that a nation’s education system cannot flourish without discipline, the President emphasized the significance of individuals pursuing careers in teaching dedicating themselves to the next generation.
He requested the opposition not to back any acts of sabotage, and everyone to place a high priority on children’s education.
The Public Service Commission’s Education Service Committee approved 60 persons for appointments. 453 English diploma holders and 1,706 graduates were given teaching positions. -NA
