Holy Cross College, Gampaha emerged runners-up at the All-Island Girls Division ‘C’ Inter-School Under-15 Team Badminton Championship held at the Richmond College Badminton Indoor Stadium in Galle. The tournament, conducted by
Sri Lanka Schools Badminton Association, was held during June 14 to 16, where Holy Cross shuttlers beat Swarnamali Balika Vidyalaya, Kandy (3-0) in the runners-up clash.
On the way to finals, Holy Cross Dharmapala Vidyalaya, Kottawa (3-0) and Prajapathi Balika Vidyalaya, Ambalagoda (3-2), before reaching the knockout stage. The team was led by Mathuki Upenya while Nethuli Perera was her deputy. Other team members include Nelar Hingert, Shenaya Perera, Lithuli Perra, Jenuli Binaya, Omri Deeshoni, Risaki Wikramasinghe, Kiyara Weerakodige and Belensha Perera. The team was coached by Mahesha Ekanayake.
